INGREDIENTS
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (defrosted)
- 1 egg beaten
- 125g Gouda cheese, finely grated (try a mix with pecorino)
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1 cup sliced biltong
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Unroll pastry onto a clean surface. Cut into ½-inch strips lengthwise
- Cut in half widthwise
- Transfer pieces to prepared baking sheet
- Brush pastry with beaten egg. Evenly distribute grated cheese and sliced biltong over pastry
- Bake for 12 minutes or until puffed and golden
- Transfer to a cooling rack
- Enjoy with a cold beer or a cup of cotta or coffee
